Recovered Materials: Knights Guard Acquisition
The Knights Guard have delivered several journals recovered from Aerian skyships. For the first time, we have access to writings belonging to actual practitioners of the Still Wind.
The findings are frustrating. Every journal describes the same process. They speak of listening, of becoming part of the sky. None provide a usable magical formula. There are no diagrams, or instructions. Only stories and teachings.
One captain wrote that his ship could remain airborne for days without the use of enchantments. Another described the Still Wind as something that could be "heard beneath the world."
We have tested every theory we can derive from their writings. We have nothing. The enchantments work, but the ships do not fly. We have replicated their sails, their runes, even the construction of their hulls. Still we have nothing.
It appears the Aerians possessed some fundamental understanding of magic that we have yet to uncover. More troubling is the repeated mention of their Seal. Several journals describe young Aerians travelling to it as part of something called the Great Pilgrimage. They claim the Seal allowed them to "hear the Still Wind more clearly."
If this is true, then the Seal may not simply be connected to Aerian flight. It may be the reason they were capable of it at all.
We have requested the remaining journals recovered by the Knights Guard. There is much more to learn.
